I am a terrible terrible blogger. I am even only vaguely good at updating my facebook page with biz pictures (but check that out for a better selection of my recent pictures). We shot this on a very grey summer day, that ended up turning to buckets of rain while we were in the middle of the field. We soldiered on though, and I love the results.

6 month old, the cutest age for babies! an in studio photo session

I have had a bunch of six month olds in the last month, much to my delight. Its impossible to not smile during a session with a baby this age. They are at their chunkiest first off. They also are usually sitting but not crawling which makes my job easier But the best part is that they are so friendly and flirty. Even the most serious and introverted babies are curious and engaging at this age– this isn’t necessarily still true at their one year session. I am very behind in my blogging but here is one of those sessions– you can see his newborn pictures done at home back six months ago. His mom brought some great stuff to the studio– vintage toys and outfits– which were really fun to work with.

This baby was such a good little baby! I did this session during the Christmas rush. We were a little worried about him falling asleep, but then we just stopped trying so hard and he instantly passed out. Since we did this one in studio, I was able to use both natural and artificial light which is especially nice bonus in these darker winter days. His mom signed up for the Baby’s First Year plan, so I am looking forward to watching him grow.

One of several newborns I’ve done the last few weeks in the drive up to the holidays. This baby was about 4 days old. I offer the choice of at home or in studio sessions for newborns who live in Portland. I’ve been doing more and more in the studio because its the best option for people who want backgrounds. But this session was done at their home.

Bad news! I am now fully booked for sessions with delivery by December 15th. I am still taking a couple December sessions, with these sessions seeing their pictures in January. I do have a couple slots open for mini Sessions in November.

Both these kids have gone through my Baby’s First Year 3 session plan so I have gotten to see them grow from 3 months of age. I’ve just finished their Christmas card so I thought I would post up the pics as well.

This 2 year old was not feeling having her picture taken out in the middle of nowhere. As two year olds (and hey lets not kid ourselves, 3 year olds as well!) frequently are, she was set in her ways and this was quite out of the ordinary. Luckily I have a way with the 2 year old set, and coaxed her into have some fun at this beautiful rural spot.

This couple was so lovely with each other. You could tell they were so in love, and so excited for their little one on the way. This is a limited selection– for maternity I often do a selection of very covered to more belly baring, but I like to keep clients privacy!
